Aerospace Filtration Systems, Inc. Acquired by Filtration Pioneer Donaldson Company, Inc.
Orlando, FL, March 1, 2007 – Aerospace Filtration Systems, Inc. (AFS) today announced that it has been acquired by the Donaldson Company, Inc. (NYSE:DCI). The transaction was closed February 28, 2007. AFS was previously a wholly owned subsidiary of Westar Aerospace and Defense Group, Inc., a subsidiary of QinetiQ North America. Donaldson will operate AFS as a wholly owned subsidiary and will maintain AFS’s current business operations in St. Louis, Missouri.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity,” said Michael Scimone, president of AFS. “We are now part of the most prestigious filtration solution company in the world, which introduces incredible opportunity for both our customers and employees.”

“The combination of our advanced manufacturing capabilities and filtration technology coupled with AFS’s position in the market and expertise in aircraft integration, provides a win-win for both our customers and respective companies,” said Sheila Peyraud, general manager of Aerospace and Defense at Donaldson.

AFS, as a part of Donaldson, will continue to introduce breakthrough filtration technology in many categories, including both barrier filters and inertial separators. The unique and powerful capabilities of each company’s technology and integration expertise will be utilized to evaluate every application and apply the best solution for each customer’s needs. Donaldson’s vast experience in filtration media will also be heavily employed by AFS, allowing the best application of both wet and dry media as appropriate. AFS and Donaldson have been working jointly over the last year to apply Donaldson’s advanced dry media technology to several AFS military and commercial barrier filter systems.

AFS and Donaldson were selected last year as the team to supply Bell Helicopter with integral barrier filters for the 429 light twin and 417 single, which is the basis for the new U.S. Army Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter. Development on both programs has been ongoing with 417 and 429 filters in flight test with an integral barrier filter on board. AFS product offerings vary across a wide application base, from both single engine and dual-engine helicopters to Auxiliary Power Units (APU).

AFS will display its IBF systems at Heli-Expo, Booth 609, March 1-3 in Orlando, Fla. and later this year at the Army Aviation Association of America convention, May 9-12 in Atlanta, Georgia
